Dr. Bill Freedman received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1989 and continued his veterinary education there, graduating in 1993.  His training included externships at the Animal Medical Center and Angell Memorial Hospital.  After gaining experience in local New Jersey hospitals, he purchased Animal General in 1998.  Dr. Freedman belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Jersey Metropolitan Veterinary Medical Association, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Jersey Veterinary Medical Association.  He is a USDA-certified veterinarian and is able to issue international health certificates. His interests include internal medicine and dentistry and he works closely with local animal welfare groups to provide care for the stray and feral animal population. In his free time he enjoys various outdoor activities and spending time with his wife, Dr. Karen Zelinski and their two sons.

Dr. Karen Zelinski graduated from Cornell University college of Veterinary Medicine.  She owned her own emergency clinic in Pennsylvania before joining us at Animal General.  She has a strong interest in emergency medicine and exotics.  Dr. Zelinski also owns River Pet Resort and Rehab and is certified in canine physical rehabilitation and veterinary acupuncture. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sons, Reese and Jesse.

Dr. Amy Onderdonk received her veterinary degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Massachusetts.  Before joining us in July 2004, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specalists of Connecticut in Hartford, CT. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Northern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, she has a strong interest in internal medicine and surgery. She enjoys the company of her rescued dog and two rescued cats.

Dr. Daniel J. Tierney received his Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Cook College - Rutgers in 2002. He then received his veterinary degree from the University of Illinois - College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Prior to joining the Animal General team, he completed his internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. He has a special interest in dentistry. Before attending veterinary school, he started as a volunteer in the year 2000 and worked his way up to a veterinary technician position right here at Animal General. In his spare time he enjoys hiking with his rescued pitbull, Sasha.
